There is a five-point focus of SRCDC in Nigeria with the acronym LEECS. Heavy focus will be on the youths who account for 60% of the nation’s population.
L - Leadership Development
E - Educational Support Services
E - Economic Empowerment Programs
C - Community Development Programs
S - Spiritual Enlightenment Programs
Leadership Development
SRCDC will partner with Leadright Consulting PC, a US based Capacity Development Corporation and John Maxwell Organization to identify sectors in the Nigerian economy lagging behind in leadership. Leadership conferences and seminars will be organized to develop leadership capacity in the identified sectors. Leadership exchange programs will be organized with reputable organizations abroad.
Educational Support Services
This will cater to indigent students who cannot afford the financial requirements of getting modern education. We intend to set up scholarship programs to take care of this class of people all over the country. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program which has been successfully implemented in USA will be introduced to Nigeria in collaboration with established educational organizations in US. STEM is a curriculum, based on educating students in four specific disciplines, science, technology, engineering and mathematics in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Funded tutoring programs will be sponsored to help students in less privileged communities nationwide. Exchange programs with notable schools and educational centers abroad will be encouraged and facilitated. Career guidance and counseling programs in remote communities will also be a priority.
Economic Empowerment Programs
Hardworking people with great and workable business ideas will be supported to actualize their vision. Business seminars, cooperative societies, microfinance banks are ideas that have been tried in the past but still not getting to the grassroots. SRCDC will connect communities with programs that fit the community to help people get a lift economically. Sectors that will receive serious attention are agriculture, backward integrating industries, cottage industries, small scale manufacturing and services.
Community Development Programs
This will include provision of basic amenities like boreholes for drinkable water, schools rehabilitation projects, local roads repairs, medical outreaches, drugs supplies, political educational and awareness programs.Food and clothes outreaches to alleviate the suffering of less privileged citizens will be aggressively pursued.
Spiritual Enlightenment Programs
Most mission projects have failed because of less attention paid to poverty eradication. Faith empowerment centers in a parachurch platform will be established for spiritual empowerment and support in our mission communities. Parachurch organizations are Christian faith-based organizations that usually carry out their mission independent of church oversight.Roles that parachurch organizations undertake include larger more national or international movements: Evangelistic crusades, faith clinics focused evangelistic and discipleship ministries like campus fellowships, Music and print publishers, radio and television stations, film studios, online ministries. Study centers and institutes, schools, colleges and universities.A typical example of a parachurch organization is Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Souls won through mission work will be discipled by this arm of the organization especially in the school of mission. 2Timothy 2:2 says “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” The organization will not limit this arm from carrying out as much pastoral work as required to make sure that these souls are nurtured into spiritual maturity.
